The vending services were tired and did not offer much in the way of variety or value. It was important to
introduce healthy products, adhere to all NHS guidelines, and increase royalties to the hospital.
Following ThirstLink’s tendering process that exceeded CQUIN guidelines, the hospital was able to make a
fully considered decision. The new supplier made a considerable investment and 23 new machines fitted
with all the latest features were installed. This included Cashless Card Readers, and Media Screens
providing nutrition and allergen information, as well as advertising opportunity.
The increase in product sales revenue benefitted both the vending operator and our client, with an
increase of £40,000 in royalty paid to the hospital.
